Character consistent music videos & lyric videos

Hey there! We've been pretty busy over the summer, and I wanted to share what we've been working on. Some of these features have been on our wishlist for a while, and we're excited to finally get them into your hands.
Creating Your Own Characters (Finally!)
You know how Autopilot already creates character-consistent AI music videos? Well, until now, those characters were completely auto-generated – you got what you got. That always felt like something we needed to improve.
So we built the Character Editor.
Now you can upload an image of yourself (or anyone, really, as long as they approve) and have them star in your music video. Or create a text description of your ideal character. The cool part is that these characters stay consistent across your entire project – even across multiple projects if you want.
You can achieve stunning resemblance of the uploaded characters by not selecting any visual style.
Here's what we've been seeing people do with it:
- Independent musicians creating their virtual alter-egos
- Bands designing consistent visual identities for entire albums
- Creators building recurring characters that tell stories across multiple videos
You can apply any visual style you like, or skip the styling entirely if you want the output to match your source image as closely as possible. It's genuinely fun to play around with, and we think it opens up some interesting creative possibilities.
Why We Added Captions (And Why You Might Want Them)
Have you noticed how much content online has captions on by default now? There's good reason for it. A lot of people watch videos muted – whether they're scrolling at work, on public transport, or just don't want to disturb others. Plus, captions help hold attention even when the sound is on.
Music videos aren't any different. So we built a caption editor directly into Autopilot. It works with our lyric detection algorithm (which we've also improved) to make the whole process pretty straightforward. The editor itself is clean and simple – nothing fancy, just a tool that does what you need it to do.

The Reality of AI Video Generation (And How We're Dealing With It)
Let's talk honestly about where AI video is right now. Remember that viral Will Smith eating spaghetti video from early 2023? We've come a long way since then, but we're not in perfect-video-every-time territory yet.
When Autopilot creates a 4-minute music video, it's generating about 48 different video clips and keyframes. It analyzes your song, takes your input, and creates prompts for each segment. Most of these turn out great. Some... don't.
We've seen our share of oddities – giraffes with three legs, people whose heads rotate like owls, objects that phase through walls like ghosts. It's frustrating when it happens, and while we're constantly working to reduce these glitches, we wanted to do something practical in the meantime.
So now you get one free rerender per minute of video. See a glitch in minute two? Rerender that section. You can use these flexibly – one keyframe plus one video clip, two keyframes, or two video clips. There's a little gift icon that shows how many rerenders you have available.
It's not a perfect solution, but it helps take the edge off when the AI decides to get creative in ways you didn't intend.
The little gift icon shows you how many rerenders you have available.
About Those Price Changes
We managed to reduce our Kling model prices quite a bit. If you're on the annual Neural Nirvana plan, you're looking at about 37 cents for a 5-second Kling Pro clip, or 25 cents for Standard. The Neural Ninja annual plan puts those at 41 cents and 27.5 cents respectively.
We put together a pricing calculator so you can figure out exactly what your projects will cost. It's pretty straightforward – just scroll down to the calculator section if your browser doesn't jump there automatically.
What's Next?
These updates are live now if you want to try them out. We're already working on the next round of features (some of which I really wish I could talk about, but... soon).
The character creation feature in particular feels like it changes the game a bit. Being able to maintain visual consistency across a project – or create your own starring role – wasn't really possible in AI music videos until now. We're curious to see what people create with it.
If you've been thinking about making AI music videos but were waiting for better character control or more reasonable pricing, now might be a good time to give it a shot. And if you do create something, we'd love to see it.
Here's to a creative September!
